Questions and Answers.
|
What is a CISS and
how does it work? |
|
The CISS (Continuous Ink Supply
System) can provide significant cost saving to home inkjet printing. Quite
simply it provides a continuous supply of ink to the printer. The
system is complete with its' own cartridges and pre-filled ink reservoirs.
Our custom cartridge draws the required amount of ink from the reservoirs
as needed. If you use the 100mls of ink in the reservoirs, you
simply refill it over and over again using our refill ink

How much will I save
by using a CISS? |
|
SAVE 94% of the cost of OEM
cartridges
|
That depends how much
you print. Obviously, the more you print the more you will be saving.
Consider it this way, the HP cartridges that came with your printer
contain 28mls of ink in the colour cartridges, and 69mls of ink in the
black cartridge. The HP11 colour cartridges retail for around $59.98 and
the black cartridge HP10 retails for around $94.77 (prices correct as of
July 2007 via officeworks online). So this equates to $275 for one set of
cartridges whch contain 153mls of ink =
$1.80 per 1ml of ink. RIHAC compatible refill inks
for the HP 10 Black pigment based ink is $19 per 100mls =
19c per ml, and HP11 colour dye base
inks are $13 per 100mls =
13c per ml, so around a 94% saving.
in our smallest set of replacement inks (100ml of each colour x 4,
total cost $52 for 400mls of ink), there is approximately 1.5 black
and 10.7 colour cartridges of ink . To buy the same amount of cartridges
would cost you $803. A saving of 94% over OEM
cartridges |

How do your inks
compare to HP? |
We use high grade UV dye and pigment base inks
manufactured from USA, Germany and Japan. These inks are manufactured
under contract for us according to our requirements and specifications.
These ARE NOT GENERIC INKS. The print quality of our CISS are just as good as
using inkjet cartridges. Our ink is micro filtered to 0.2 um to
ensure stable and fluent printing and prevent head blockages. Our
premium inks have high end UV absorber components which prolong ink life
and durability. This means that printed pictures do not fade at the
same rate as standard generic inks. Using top grade raw materials
from USA, Germany and Japan ensures a wide colour gamut and vivid
output. We have invested a great deal of development and money to
ensure our quality of CISS units and Inks is as high as possible.
This is our sole business and we specialize in CISS units. We do not
stock low quality cheap CISS units or inks. We have trialled them
while developing our unit and we have found that they are just
not reliable. Please feel free to see our feedback and you will
see that all our customers are genuinely happy with our units and
after sales service. For legal reasons we must point out that HP spend
considerable time and money on R& D of their ink products. It is
acknowledged that they manufacture very high grade inks and we do not
purport to have the same inks manufactured by them. It must still be
remembered that these are compatible inks and are not manufactured nor
endorsed by HP. It must also be pointed out that the use of aftermarket
cartridges may void your printer warranty.

How do I get refill
ink? |
 |
We are currently offering Premium Grade UV
inks at $52 per
4 x 100mls
refill kit or $13 per 100mls dye
and $19 per 100ml Black pigment base. Our HP compatible replacement ink can also be
purchased from selected computer stores. Our unit is prefilled
with premium grade platinum inks specifically profilled for your printer
series, If you do not purchase your inks from RIHAC be sure to purchase
your refill inks from a reliable source as the quality and colour gamut of
your ink is very important. Poor Ink quality leads to damaged print
heads. Cheap inks tend to use chemical carrier fluids which damage
your printer and use excessive alcohol carrier fluids. Generally
these inks are not filtered correctly which causes physical blockages to
your print heads which can lead to overheating and permanent print head
damage. |

|
Are all Ink Systems the
Same? |
|
Absolutely
not. There is a great
deal of difference between CISS units available in the market
today. Some are simply imported copies of reasonable CISS units
using low grade inks and components. These tend to be unreliable and
require high maintenance as well as not being conducive to long term use
. The primary difference between a quality CISS system and a cheap
system is inverablty the quality of the inks used. In our testing we
found that units (particularly those imported from Asia) had a tendency to
contain ink that has a high alcohol base and universal colour
profile. This leads to tube blockages and can cause damage to the
print heads. The cartridge design on other units tend only to have a
single head seal or rubber style seal which leak over time. We
have developed our cartridges to ensure ink flow is even and
consistent. We also use a high gauge silicone tubing rather than
traditional PVC tubing, which restricts ink flow in colder weather.
This results in poorer quality imaging. Don't be fooled by cheap
imitations. Basically you get what you pay for. In relation to HP
compatible CISS units we have spent the last 12 months developing this
unit. There are very few, if any, manufacturers in the world who have
developed a stable and reliable unit for the 02 series printers. As
outlines the printers can detect when incorrect inks are used and lock out
the cartridges. |
